Warranty Policy

The following policy applies for items Sold and shipped by Autonomous and only to products purchased new-in-box(“Autonomous Products” or “Products") and does not cover products manufactured by other brands Sold and shipped by a Vendor other than Autonomous (“Vendor Products", please refer to Dropship Product TOU.

The product warranty is valid for the original purchaser of the product only and is non-transferable.

Warranty terms

We stand firmly behind our Autonomous product. Your product is guaranteed to be free from manufacturer defects, however, if there are manufacturer defects, please report them to Smart Office upon delivery, so we can send you replacement parts. Please note that it is very common for manufacturers to send replacement parts to address warranty issues. Manufacturer warranties will not cover any costs associated with repairs. The replacement parts are the same version as your original products. We do not provide any upgrade replacement parts under any circumstance.

'Defects', as defined in this warranty, are any imperfections in material or workmanship that inhibits the use of the product. In no event shall Smart Office be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the product.

 

Applicable Warranty Periods

Our standard warranty is counted from the actual date of delivery. The warranty period applies to the original products only.

For products purchased on or after January 9, 2019, all eligible Autonomous products are covered under a limited, non-transferable warranty for the term listed below for normal usage.

A failure is a mechanical breakdown or defect in the unit that affects the user’s ability to operate the product as intended. If it is determined that the failure was caused by misuse or abuse of the product, replacements and return shipping will be at the customer’s expense.

 

We hereby cover all Autonomous products for a period of:

15 years: 

  • Autonomous Desk Levitate (15 years for frame, 1 year for tabletop and power tracks).

10 years: all metal and mechanical parts and components, including motors and electrical components of

  • SmartDesk 2
  • SmartDesk 2 Expanse
  • SmartDesk 2 L-Shaped
  • Autonomous SmartDesk Pro was purchased after June 27, 2024.
  • Autonomous SmartDesk Commercial
  • Autonomous Desk Eureka
  • Autonomous Desk L-Shaped

5 years: all TPB mesh components, metal and mechanical parts and components, including motors and electrical components of

  • Autonomous SmartDesk Core

  • Autonomous SmartDesk Corner

  • Autonomous SmartDesk Business Edition

3 years: all metal and mechanical parts and components, including motors and electrical components of

  • SmartDesk Connect

2 years: All mesh components, metal and mechanical parts and components, including motors and electrical components of

  • All SmartDesk Table Top/Surface.  In case the table's top has an issue and needs to be replaced, Autonomous only accepts to compensate you the same or downgrade the price/size of the tabletop (Ex. from XL top to classic top). There is no refund for the discrepancy amount if you want to downgrade your tabletop.

  • Pod products. Please carefully read through Pod T&C on the Pod page prior to making any purchase.
Please note that:
  • The tabletops or surfaces are under the 1-year warranty period. 

  • The SmartDesk Business Edition was covered under 5 years warranty period.

  • SmartDesk Connect was purchased in Sale/Promotion before Jun 30, 2023, under the 1-year warranty period.

  • SmartDesk Connect was purchased at the original price before Jun 30, 2023, under the 7-year warranty period

  • SmartDesk Core, our dual-motor frame desk, is an upgraded version of SmartDesk 2 Home Edition, the single-motor one. The 5-year-warranty period is only applied to the SmartDesk Core. All SmartDesk 2 Home Edition Frame was covered under 1 year warranty period only. Since it was sunsetted in Jul 2019, it would be no longer eligible for the warranty policy stated herein from Jul 2020.

  • SmartDesk Pro purchased before 2024, under the 7-year warranty period.
  • Ergochair Pro purchased from Jan 2016 to Dec 2017: 5-year warranty.

  • Ergochair Pro purchased from Jan 2018 to Jan 2020: 1-year warranty.

  • Ergochair Plus purchased before 10 May 2023: 5-year warranty.

  • Ergochair Plus or Autonomous Chair Ultra purchased from 10 May 2023 to 17 July 2024: 2-year warranty.

 

Warranty service

In the event that you discover a defect, please provide the photo or video of the product by filling in this warranty request, it will improve our ability to quickly and correctly identify the issue and resolve it for you. Once we receive a completed request, please allow 1-3 business days to process.

If a replacement is needed, all in-stock products are shipped in 1-2 business days, most via FedEx or UPS ground. Find our shipping time frame here.

 

Warranty Exceptions

In no event shall Smart Office be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the product This warranty does not cover:

  • Products manufactured by other brands are sold under the Dropship model. Please refer Dropship Product TOU.

  • Anyone but the original purchaser of the product. Warranty is non-transferable

  • All Autonomous products purchased from dealers or resellers are not eligible for a warranty. We only sell the replacement parts for customers, who bought products directly from Autonomous. 

  • Normal wear and tear over time, including dents, scratches, stains, fading, and tears, worns.

  • Problems caused by mold, termites, insects or quality changes are affected by the weather and surrounding conditions.

  • Natural material variations found in Bamboo desktops such as color, grains, etc

  • Damage due to improper assembly or disassembly

  • Damage caused by improper cleaning supplies or product modifications, misuse, abuse or floods, fire, hurricanes

  • Imprinting and scratching due to writing instruments or other sharp objects

  • Scratch, dent, and bent or Open Box products

  • Pilling of textile, and dye transfers caused by external contaminants.

  • Weight capacity is the capacity of the frame, not the seat itself. Abnormal loss of resiliency should not be confused with the softening and flattening of the foam and fibers, which is not defects.

  • Changes in surface finish or color of the material including color-fastness or matching of colors, wood grains, or textures

  • Any form of the replacement part order.

  • Any gifts, rewards from Autonomous events, Sales or Promotions.

 

Replacement part order

Replacement parts are now being sold separately for Autonomous product(s) and for the original purchaser of the product only. Be advised that the warranty policy doesn’t apply to replacement part orders.

All damages to purchased parts must be reported to our customer service team within 7 days of delivery. Customers that have the intention to purchase replacement part are advised to consider carefully since the replacement part order(s) are non-returnable.


What should I do if my product arrives damaged?

We recommend that all shipments be inspected immediately upon arrival. Please make note of any damage to boxes when signing for the shipment.

  • Report any losses or damages promptly to the Smart Office team on this warranty request form.

  • Notification must be made within one week of delivery. Otherwise, Autonomous reserves the right to deny your claim request.

  • Save all packaging until the trial period has ended in case of return.

Please let us know immediately if your order does not arrive within the delivery time frame. We cannot be responsible for claims filed more than 30 days after the delivery period.
